In 1967, Jack & Stella Tee opened the first Chanterelle clothes shop in Oxted, Surrey.
The fashion shop successfully traded out of only 300 sq ft for over 25 years. In 1982, their son, Stephen joined the company. After studying for a geography degree, Stephen worked in brand management for Rowntree Mackintosh & Nestle. On joining the company new clothing shops were opened in Sevenoaks and Horsham.
In 1994, all these small shops were closed and Stephen moved Chanterelle into its current location in Station Road East, Oxted. Today, Chanterelle women's fashion shop extends to nearly 4000sq ft, trades across two floors and stocks several fashion ranges and accessories.
